Building up of Position and Fleet

In 1992 DIREX became a member of the Association of International Road Carriers in Poland and adopted strategy of operating in the international market of road transports, specialising in transports involving controlled temperature regime. At that time Russia as well as other CIS countries were our main destinations; which also included some Western European countries. The middle of 1990’s in the history of the company will be remembered as the period of fleet growth prompted by the boom in the fruits and vegetables trade between the EU and Russia – over several years the number of vehicles on the fleet increased several times. The Russian financial crises of 1998 heavily damaged the transport industry in the entire Central Europe, with many companies going broke, including largest European forwarding corporations – however thanks to thoughtful and prudent strategy and diversification DIREX luckily survived the market recession, while the well recognised brand name attracted many new customers.
